Industrial Visit

As per the University of Pune syllabus for masters, students are suppose to visit industries of their respective fields in order to have practical implementation exposure to the theoretical knowledge which they learn in their three year tenure of engineering education. This year our department has arranged the visit in 2 companies.

1. C-DAC Mohali:
About Centre:
Center for Electronics Design & Technology of India (CEDTI), Mohali was setup in May 1989. Primarily with the mission to train manpower in electronic design & technology by offering a variety of training programmes in diverse aspects of electronics design, product development, production technology, maintenance engineering, information technology and quality control, etc. In December 2002, CEDTI Mohali merged with C-DAC with a primary mandate to promote high end R&D along with education and training.
The centre is engaged in design and deployment of world class IT and electronics solutions in the following domains:

1. Health Informatics
2. Multilingual Technologies
3. Professional Electronics
4. Software Technologies
5. Cyber Forensics and Security

Centre continues to play a leading role in human resource development and training in Information Technology (IT) sector in the northern region. Center offers high-end courses like M.Tech in VLSI as well as ME in Electronic Product Design Technology (EPDT). Short term value added courses and diploma are designed for knowledge based skill development. It also offers courses for foreign participants, sponsored by MEA under ITEC/SCAAP programs.

Centre operates from its own impressive building located in the ELTOP (Electronics Town of Punjab) Complex amidst a large number of industries, manufacturing electronic products relating to computers, peripherals, communication equipment and components, offering a great professional challenge to the faculty and staff of the Centre.

The one day visit was organized with prior permission of to CDAC(Center for development of advanced Computing) (India) Mohali, Chandigad. and confirmed on 18 th March . The students got benefited in terms of the technical details provided by the company on an important part of Recruitment Policy of Company.

2. Visual Media:
The next day visit was organized with prior permission of to Visual Media(India)Chandigarh. and confirmed on 19 th March . The students got benefited in terms of the technical details provided by the company on an important part of Recruitment Policy of Company.

They conducted for about 1hour and 30 min session which covered the following details:- The session was conducted by

Mr.Manpreet Singh(How to Make Animation) Point:
1) Introduction of Animation Software.
2) Explain about form which project they work.
3) How to embbed animation video in Bollywood and Hollywood movies.
4) Show there demo projets.
5) Steps for creating animation video.
6) They clear our doughts.
7) Recruitment process.

In Both company’s students were allowed to visit the entire plant. The expert person from the organization give them guidance about the entire flow of work & Future Career in IT Etc. The visit duration was around 3 hrs.
